Searchlight has lost again, one of is old-time citizens, Dewey YAEGER. Dewey was born in Texas. he moved to Searchlight in 1931 with his parents, Alfred and Lulu YAEGER, and his brother and two sisters.

Dewey lived in Searchlight until the last few years, when because of illness, he moved into Las Vegas to live with his sister. He remained there until his death.

Dewey YAEGER will be remembered in Searchlight for his generosity. he donated the property for the Searchlight School playground and Public Library. Dewey's remains were laid to rest in the old Searchlight Cemetery along side of his mother.
